BENEFIT ERASE PASTE

"Signs of stress & fatigue are a thing of the past with this innovative formula. This concentrated, creamy, blendable concealer instantly brightens & camouflages all-in-one. The three brightening neutral shades give every gal correction perfection."

Ok, so I finally got my tail to Ulta and returned that awful Revlon PhotoReady Foundation and picked up this baby! I have been wanting to try this, and other consealers, from Benefit for months! I have really fair skin, so I knew the lightest shade would be best for me. I couldn't wait to try it out when I got home! So imagine my surprise when I opened up the box and found this in the color MEDIUM! Ahhhhhhh!! It was late and the store was closed. What to do? I sadly put this away in my makeup room until I could return to Ulta to switch it out. =( Later that night, very late, I was in my makeup room just moisturizing (Whooray for moisturizers!) and I was eyeing that cute little box. It was just calling my name. I thought, "Well, Ulta will take it back anyway, might as well try it. Just to see how it covers and if it gets cakey on me." So I pulled out the little spatula and just dipped the very tip into the paste. I didn't get enough out to dab on the back of my hand so I just put some on my ring finger and patted it on under my eyes. Here's my intial thoughts, I will update you guys later on after I've used it more.

This stuff is amazing! I used such a tinsy amount and it covered my dark circles under BOTH eyes! And the color actually was right for my skin!! I couldn't believe it! I've never worn medium anything on my skin before, except for bronzer maybe! So I was so glad I didn't have to take another trip to Ulta to trade it out. I can only imagine how it would have gone had I bought the light shade. Perhaps it would have lite up under my eyes like a Christmas tree and I woudln't have liked it or thought to try the medium shade.

I've really been liking my Maybelline Mousse Consealer, but I had to use so much more of that to get the same effect. And for the record, I didn't think that I had been using that much of the Maybelline before I tried this Erase Paste. This didn't get cakey or settle into any **cough** fine lines that I may or may not have!! Since it was a night, I can't speak on it's staying power yet. I am full of hope for this little gem in a jar! This has got to be the best $26 I've spent in a looooooong time.

Has anyone else tried this? What did you think? Would you recommend I try Boi-ing or Powderflage? I really want to get Benefit's Confessions of a Consealaholic! I'm actually going on a job interview today (wish me luck!) and it just might be my celebration gift to myself if I get it! Brazil may just have to wait! I'll keep you posted!

HONEYCAT COSMETICS

Honeycat Cosmetics is a fun brand based out of New York. They have a flirty feline inspired line of bath & body products as well as cosmetics. I was sent the products pictured above for review. From left to right, Rub My Tummy Milk & Honey Body Cream, Sweet Potato Pie Bubble Stuff, and Hiss Good Night Pink Peppermint Lipgloss.

I was most excited about the Sweet Potato Pie Bubble Stuff!! I don't usually take baths, but I was glad to when I knew I was going to try this! It doesn't have a strong scent, which I like. It's just nice and gentle, and doesn't linger. Some of you might like that and other won't. But for me, I'd rather smell like my scented lotion or perfume. This makes loads of bubbles and makes the water feel so silky! I have had one bath myself with this and my girls have had about three--and I am still at half a bottle! A lot of bubble baths dry out my already dry skin, but not this one.

I absolutley <3 the packaging for the Hiss Good Night Pink Peppermint Lipgloss! How cute is all their packaging really? I thought since peppermint was in the name, this must have peppermint in it. Nope! So I was a little disappointed. Also, the color is very pink in the tube. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that it doesn't look like that on the lips. It sheers out quite a bit and gives a nice pink sheen. I also thought it would be very sparkely--wrong again! It does have some, but not over the top. You could wear this easily out, maybe not to work, but running around the weekends and such. I also really like the applicator, it's like a brush, not the felt kind. This goes on smooth and even as well. I tried taking a picture of my lips for ya, but those never come out well for me! Sorry! You can see it on the beautiful Kate Gene  by going to her amazing page and reading her review on some Honeycat items!

Lastly, the Rub My Tummy Milk & Honey Body Cream! What a fun name right? They are so clever there at Honeycat! I just had three small samples of this and I'm such a scrooge, I've only used one so far. It's a nice light, but not too light or watery, lotion. I thought it would a lot thicker since  it's a body cream, but it does the trick! It  absorbs fast into my dry skin and keeps it moisturized for hours.

Of all three products, I'd have to say hands down my favorite is the ss Good Night Pink Peppermint Lipgloss! I would love to see Honeycat come out with more colors and even add real peppermint to it as well! I love that minty tingle in a gloss! In the future, I'd love to get my paws on some Calypso Kitty Moisturizing Tropical Scrub!

If you haven't visited the Honeycat website, you should! Right now! It's too cute. I love the girl cat in the bubblebath and towel on her head! It's adorable! It's even got cute music playing! I think anyting from this webpage would be such a great girly gift for any of your friends. Who wouldn't want to get this as a gift?

Forget putting this in my bath, I want to eat this it looks so good!

I can only assume this is Ms. Terry, creater and developer of Honeycat. I can also only assume that this chic, sexy line in inspired by Terry herself! All and all, I just think this is a great line which I will be purchasing things from for myself, friends, and family! It's not just cute packaging and catchy names, I really think the products I have tried so far have been great and I look forward to sharing more Honeycat reviews with you all in the future!

AVON BIG COLOR DAZZLER IN MOCHA MAUVE

I have had this for a few months but just haven't really used it too much! I've decided to stop buying any more makeup for a while, since I have more than one person really needs! I am not calling it project 10 pan or anything like that. If I see something that I'd really like to try for a good deal, I don't want to make myself feel bad for giving in!! Know what I mean? I pulled this out on this cold March morning wanting to do a warm look. This color is gorgeous! Here's the swatch (no primer this time):

It is sooo pretty! Very shimmery and creamy in texture. It blends on your lid perfectly! After letting it set on my lids for a little while, I patted on some of my favorite Cover Girl single shadows and they really held on to this! Once this stuff has set on your lids, you are good to go or you can put on shadow over it like me. I think this summer I will try wearing this alone with no powder of any kind on it. It's got such a nice shimmer, but it's not over the top on the lid. These aren't available on AVON's webpage right now, but they do have their non-shimmery versions available. They are even on sale for $3.99! Did I mention these are also waterproof? Who wouldn't love that---perfect for summer time!!

Here's the look I did today using this as a base:
Here's what I used for this whole eye look:
Cover Girl single shadows in Brown Smolder (matte) & Mink (shimmer)
AVON Big Color Dazzler in Mocha Mauve
AVON Glimmer Sticks Eye Liner in Cosmic Brown
AVON SpectraLash Mascara  in Black

MARK IT KIT TREND COLOR COMPACT

"The 10 best shades for spring, all-in-one limited-edition compact!"
Mark says "For spring's hottest looks, it doesn't get better than this! A unique "flipping" inner component holds three lip glosses and three triple use color creams (formulated for eyes, cheeks and lips!) on one side, three eye shadows and a universally flattering bronzer on the other."

I saw this and thought, what a cute idea! I was excited to play with this when it came! It is a little hard to "flip" because I kept putting my fingers in either powder or gloss! Now that I have played with it for a while, I've got the hang of it, but I still think they could make it a little easier.

One thing I think is funny is that I bought this several months ago and it was marketed as "this fall's hottest looks"!! Anywho...still reallly like this compact, for anytime.

Bottom row, lip glosses: Sigh, Strut and Primp
Top row, triple use color creams: Ruffle, Vanity and Amped
(Swatches below in same order as shown in the compact)

I haven't actually got around to using the triple use colors creams anywhere but on my lips. But they are lovely shades! I thought Strut was going to be way too bold for me, even though it is a gloss, but the color is really nice! Sign and Primp look more sheer on me, but still better than a naked lip! These stay on pretty well and go on really smooth, like I would expect any gloss to do. Watch out when kissing or eating, these won't hold up through all that!! ;)

Top row, eyeshadows: Ruffle, Vanity and Amped
Bottom, bronzer: Pro Golden
(Swatches below in same order as shown in the compact)

As you can see, the eyeshadows don't have much pigmentation to them. (I always use primer for my swatches.) So, that was pretty disappointing. They are also very soft, so be aware of fallout ahead. I do like the bronzer quite a bit though. It's a nice color for my complexion and just a hint of shimmer.

Here's a look from this palette:

Pretty hard to tell I've got anyting on at all, huh? Perhaps I should try foiling the shadows. I will try that sometime and let you know how that works out. I think this palette is cool in concept, but didn't live up to my expectations. This would probably be great for someone who doesn't like bold looks or just beginning. It sells for $20 on ebay as well as with Mark. There are other versions of this as well. You can check them out here! Some are on sale for $5.99--which it what I would expect to pay for this quality of product.

If foiling works out, I would totatally take this on a weekend away and would also consider buying other Flip for It's. Would anyone be interested in this as a give-a-way item? Please let me know what you think. I'd love to see what someone else, probably with more skills than me!, can do with it.

WHAT'S IN MY SHOWER

Yes, I have duckie shower curtain, but before you laugh, remember I have two little girls!
I think these little snooping posts are fun, so I decided to take you in my shower! I'm going to tag a few people because saying "I tag everyone" doesn't work! So, if I don't tag you, let me know if you want to be tagged and I'll be happy to add you!

Whoever invented shower caddies was a genious!! I love this one. I stole it from my husband and gave him my smaller one. He only had one bottle on his so I felt justified swapping!! Gotta love to shower poofs as well. There's one for me and one for each of my ladies--yes, this means I do not share a shower with my husband! The hall bathroom is bigger than the master, so it was a no brainer for me! I also really love the Schick Intuition. I started using it in college because when you have that small space to shave your legs, not having to mess with shaving gel/cream just makes it so much easier! I have a little pink razor in their too! Also on the bottom shelf is my Mrs. pedicure wand! I need a new one, but this is still good. It has a pumice stone on one side and a brush on the other. My feet live for this!! Perfect to use at the end of your shower to get off all the dead skin! Yuck!

Left to right: Honeycat Sweet Potato Bubble Stuff (review coming soon!), Bath & Body Works Twilight Woods Shower Gel, AVON In Bloom shower gel, Planet Spa Himalayan Goji Berry body wash, Fairyland Golden Lily shower gel, and AVON Be Kissable shower gel.
My hands down favorite here is my Twilight Woods shower gel! It smells super yummy!! The Honeycat bubble stuff is a close second, even though it leaves my skin with more moisture.I have yet to use the Fairyland shower gel--it was a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law. I'm not crazy for the Be Kissable shower gel, though my hubby likes the way it smells.

Left to rightL ANEW Rejuvenate 2 in 1 Gel Cleanser, ANEW Reveralist Foaming Cleaner, Body & Earth Spa Raspberry Walnut Body Scrub, and Skin So Soft Bath Oil Spray.
I only have a bit left of this Rejuvenate cleanser left. It's only still around because I feel bad throwing things away!! I should find a friend with oily skin to give it to. **If any of you would like it, just email me with your address and I'd be happy to send it out.** It smells great and really cleanses my skin, but it's too trying for my dry skin! I LOVE the Reversalist Cleanser!! Love love love it! Cleanses great and doesn't dry me out. Doesn't smell as nice as the other, but still has a nice scent. I really like the Body & Earth Scrub, but I am still missing my Soap & Glory Body scrub! I told myself not to buy another one till I used this one up. So far, so good! I use the Skin So Soft bath oil about once a week. I've got super dry skin, so this really helps me lock in moisture!
These don't fit on the shower caddy with the loads of other products! But I do like them in these little shelf so it's easy to grab to wash my little girls hair!
Let me tell you, when I saw this Alberto V05, I didn't expect it to be any good, for 89 cents at the grocery store. I was on a serious budget and picked it up and hoped to be wrong. Yeah...it was awful!! It smelled gross and left my hair really dry. I use it now to shave my legs!! Still don't like the scent, but it doesn't linger, so that's good! I love TRESemme products! I already ran out of my condioner so I've got my Garnier one on hand right now (love that one too)! I usually switch back and forth between these brands. Aussie is another one that I really like. My hair is really thick and I go through this stuff fast!!

Well, that's my shower! Hoped you enjoyed it! Would love to hear any comments from you guys about these or other shower products you love/hate!

SEDONA LACE 88 MATTE PALETTE

I received this amazing palette from Sedona Lace to review about a week ago and I've had some time to play and was anxious to fill you all in. This palette has such a great range of neutral colors as well as it's fair share of "out there" bright colors. It's got the best of both worlds if you ask me! I have the 28 Neutral Palette as well as the 88 Warm. I don't have the 120 palette, but I've seen many reviews and swatches and would call this 88 Matte Palette and hybrid of the 120 palette and 88 warm pallete.

If you are like me, you love your neutral colors but are craving more color in your collection, but 120 "out there colors" really won't fit into your style, then you have to try this 88 matte palette! I'm so glad to have this in my collection. There are, I admit, a few colors in here that are anything but matte, but the majority of the colors are a great matte finish. The pigmentation of  99% of these are fab! I always wear Urban Decay Eye Priming Potion, so I suppose if you don't use a primer, colors may not be as vibrant. So let's get to the pictures already!!!

Left to right: You've got some awesome highlight and brown colors in the first two rows! Then the middle rows give you a pretty good array of colors to play with; greens, blues, purples, pinks, and oranges. The last two rows are your great darker neutrals, golds, grays. and toupes. Here's some that I swatched:
Did I mention that I am loving these colors?? I do all my swatches with primer, so keep that in mind. As you can see, the silver colors are shimmery, not matte, but still gorgeous!! SO many colors combinations, endless possibilities!!!! Here's my first look from this palette:

This is not a typical look for me by any means, but I wanted to branch out a bit and have some fun!! I first saw this look on youtube from many of my favorite gurus (RenRen, Makeup Geek, Tiffany D, etc...) I don't have their skills, but here's my attempt. =p

Here's the colors I used. I used the top row of colors in exactly the same order on my eye lid. The light purple in the second row was in my crease to blend and I used the light pink one next to that as a highlight!!! I also put some of the bright pink and darkest purple on the outer part of my bottom lashes for some extra pop! Wuhu!! I could have made this look much brighter, but I'm taking baby steps!! Whatda think?

You can draw inspiration from natural as well, as that is always in style!! I'd love to see you push beyound your comfort zone! Remember, this doesn't have to be wearable!! Or, if you like, you can take a crazy look from the catwalk and make it your own and wearable, but it must be creative! That is the number one thing I am looking for!

You should picture your inspiration in your blog post--or email to me if you don't have a blog---along with pictures of your look---pictures of your whole face preferred. COLLECTION 2000 LASTING PERFECTION FOUNDATION

I was sent this foundation and consealer to review from Lollipop26writes.com. She was sent this, but it didn't match her skin color. Her loss was my gain! I've been using this foundation quite a bit in the last three weeks or so. I have worn it just around the house, running errands, swimming, and Zumba class at the gym!

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation claims 16 hour wear that gives flawless coverage, won't tranfer, has SPF 20, and is oil free. This color is in Vanilla 1--which is a tad light for me to my surprise. I am usually the lightest color in most lines of foundation. I was able to fix this problem with a little bronzer! It is a bit thicker than other foundations I have tried, but it still didn't feel heavy on my face. To look at my skin and to touch it, you can't tell I'm wearing anything, which is someting I expect from any foundation!! One pump--which is great by the way--was all I needed to get full coverage on my face. I really didn't even need to use the consealer with this. I usually have to wear consealer under my eyes to cover the darkness, but this foundation really covered that too!

My skin is very dry and a lot of foundations tend to make my skin look a bit flaky in some areas, but I didn't notice that with this one. It really did last for a long as I was wearing it--rarely wear makeup 16 whole hours! I lasted through me being in the pool with my kids for over an hour, lasted through areobics classes, and just through my regular day. Overall, I really like this foundation and I wish they sold it here in the states. I did check out their webpage to see more information about it and was disappointed to see they don't have many color selections--only 6 colors!! None looked like they are for darker skin tones. The price for this is £5.99, is that about $10? I'm not sure!! But if it is, seems like a great price to me!

The consealer, in Fair 1, says it can conseal flaws and blemishes for up to 16 hours and is will not transfer. Like I said before, the foundation covers so well for me, I really only used this a few times to see if it made any difference for me. Did it? Not really. I don't get blemishes **Knock on wood** so I can't say how it covers those. But I do have really uneven skin tone, but the foundation alone takes care of that for me. But as far as the texture and blendability of the consealer, I found it quite nice. Also visited the webpage to see color range for this item and it only had 4 choices. Not nearly enough if you ask me. At £3.99, about $6 seems like a great price to me as well.

A close look at the foundation and consealer:

That is one pump of foundation on the left and on the right is the consealer. You can see how thick the foundation is compaired to the consealer. The foundation looks much darker than the consealer in this picture, but they are more similar in real life.

If this were sold in the US, I'd buy it for sure. But I'm not crazy enough about it to pay for it to be shipped to me from the UK. Maybe in the future I can do a swap with someone and get more that way!

FTC Disclosure: Products were sent from a company for review. I am not affiliated with the company and not paid to write the review. These are my honest thoughts.

SKINMD SHIELDING LOTION NATURAL & GIVE-A-WAY-CLOSED

-

I'm sure a lot of you have read reviews on this shielding lotion. So I won't go into too much detail about how it works. I'll briefly tell you what it is and mostly concentrate on what it did for my skin and other thoughts on the product.

Basically, "a shielding lotion keeps moisture-robbing irritants away from the skin while the proprietary "super" humectants hydrate the skin throughout the day."

It can be used all over the body and even face. It is very light and absorbs quickly into your skin. I used it most before going into the pool at my gym. I noticed right away that my skin wasn't tight and itchy, like normal, after an hour of water aerobics.

The directions on the bottle say to use every two to eight hours until you see an improvement of moisture levels in your skin. That doesn't seem difficult at all---unless you are me and often get busy with my daily tasks and forgot about my skin! Eeeks!! I put it on in the morning and in the evening. I did see an improvement to my very dry skin, but I think I should have used it more often.

When I was told I'd be receiving a full sized bottle I was surprised to see it was only 4 ounces. This retails for $9.95. I would like to see this available in a larger size. And I'm not talking about buying it buy the gallon, for $294.14!! How about something in the 15-20 ounce range?

There's really not much of a scent to this, if any. Which I like and dislike at the same time! Oh how fickle I can be! I love to slather on lovely scented lotions!! I like the thick, creamy feeling of ones I've used in the past. I suppose after years and years of this habit, it's just hard to break! In my head, I can see that this shielding lotion is better for my skin, but I can help to yearn for old my friends!

Also, on a superficial note--I don't like the bottle design. It's not pretty at all! I suppose it is trying to appeal to both sexes and all ages, but I just want something pretty!! Maybe they could package it in several different bottles and open up their market! Anyone else agree? Am I just being too demanding?

The particular bottle I was sent did not have SPF, which is also a problem for me. But, they do have a lotion with SPF 15 available in a 4 ounce bottle for $25. To me, this a little pricey, but if it works for you and delivers amazing results, why not right?

If you are interested in knowing what is in this lotion, click here!! You will find a very descriptive and informative list of ingredients. I have never seen such detail on a lotion before.

All and all, I think this is a nice product and would be worth buying. My only hurdles, like I said before, is my strong addiction to traditional lotions that don't really solve my dry skin problem! Also, the price for me is a bit high. If they were to offer larger bottles for a more "drug store" price, I think I'd be all over that.

Amber over at SkinMD as agreed to sponor a give-a-way! They usually try to keep giveaways to US and Canada due to some recent difficulties with shipments, but after learning that many of my readers live outside these areas, they have agreed to make it international!! How great is that? Also, be on the lookout for 20% to NV Beauty readers on this amazing lotion!
