HERSTYLER 3 PART CURLER

Want to have curls like these? I love nothing more than sexy, loose curls that are easy to do! Here's what I used to get this look! Folica was kind enough to send me this Herstyler 3 Part Curler about a month or more ago. I've used it several times and I feel that I can now do a proper review. Just because this was sent to me,  it did not influence my opinion. Just wanted to get that out of the way!

"The HerStyler 3 Piece Clipless Curling Iron Set features 3 different sized interchangeable barrels to create a variety of curls according to your styling needs! Barrels range in sizes from .5, .75 and 1". These clipless curling irons utilize the latest ceramic and digital technology. Producing negative ions to seal cuticle and repel humidity meaning NO FRIZZ! Quick heat up time to achieve your desired look in a short time. This set also comes with a thermal glove which will prevent you from burning your hand and allow you to style your hair with ease."

I was most interested in trying a clipless curling iron because I hate how dry my ends get when I use a traditional curling iron. So I had to jump at the chance to review this!

And here are the goodies inside:

Inside this cute tin is a thermal glove, three clipless curling irons, and the handle that heats the curling irons of course! The glove works really well! I didn't burn myself at all when wearing it. I did, however, burn myself when I got all brave and took it off!! I recommend keeping it on until you feel like a pro! I love that there are three different size curlers also. They come in 1", 3/4", and 1/2" in size.

I have mostly used the largest one. I use the middle one around my face and I have yet to try the smallest one. I am just not interested in curls that tiny. I much prefer large, looser curls.

This of course is the handle you plug each curler into. It has two different heat settings and there is a red light when it is on. It warms up pretty fast, I'd estimate about 30-45 seconds.

The barrels snap into here and it's really easy to do. You just squeeze the buttons on either side of the barrel and pull it off! It's that easy!

It also has the great little "stand" here on the side to keep your counter top from getting burned. This also has a seriously long swivel cord! I'd say it's at least 5'-6' long.

The suggested retail price of this is $300. Folica sells it for $179.95 and will give you free shipping! Their packaging is always very well done and speedy in my experience.

So overall....

Pros:
3 Barrel sizes
Smooth, sleek curls
Don't burn the ends of your hair
Comes with thermal glove
Long Cord
Heats up fast
Cute packaging
Negative Ions=no frizz

Cons:
Price

Well, as you can see, the pro's far outweigh the cons here! I haven't tried this one, but if you just want the larger barrel, Folica has one from Sedu that is a bit cheaper and I'm guessing will still give you amazing curls also! I will be posting a "how to" tutorial on my youtube channel soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

HAIRDO, PART TWO

"This VibraliteTM modacrylic fiber 23" Clip-in Wavy Extension from HairUWear adds volume to shorter hair and short hair transforms to luxurious below-the-shoulder length waves in MINUTES. Now any woman can easily and affordably change her length and/or add volume to her own hair with HairDoTM Synthetic Clip-in Hair from Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves."

So last month I tried the HairDo  22" Clip-in Straight ExtensionIt was much too light for my hair color (it was chocolate brown) and also, it would have to be trimmed for it to really blend with my own hair. So the fantastic Julie, over at Folica.com kindly sent me the 23" Inch Wavy Hair extension, in midnight brown (which is almost black).

I was so looking forward to seeing how the curly hair blended in with my own hair. Here's the fab packaging that these babies come in:

After you open up the box, you'll find the hair piece in a hairnet and tied down by three cute, black bows. It's really easy to put it back in this packaging when you are not using the hair also!

And here's the actual hair piece itself: (sorry I forgot to snap a pic of the inside---if you're curious about how it looks, check out my other HairDo review)

It has a nice amount of hair on it. It's not as thick as my own hair, but probably what the average person has! The hair is layered and the curls are gorgeous! I wish my own hair would curl this nicely AND STAY!

Of course I had to curl my own hair before putting this on. I used my Caruso 30 Molecular Ion Steam Hairsetter. I'll be writing up another review for that later!! It took just a few minutes to snap onto my hair and I was ready to snap some quick photos for you!

**Will be reviewing this eyeshadow soon as well....can you guess what brand it is?**

It's hard to take pictures of hair this long....so I asked my good friend Samantha at work to take a couple for me! The lighting at work isn't stellar, but you can see the length it gave me! LOVE!!

Now, you can see that when all the hair is on my back...the color match isn't perfect...but when it's pull to the front/side you can hardly tell. I usually darken my hair in the winter, so that should correct this. But everyone at work had no idea I had a hair piece in! I'm sure my clients couldn't tell either. I felt really sexy with this in!! Something about super long hair can do that to a girl!! I really loved the way this one looked.

At first I wished it was a bit thicker, but as the day wore on, I realized how heavy it would be if it had more hair on it. I did have to take it out by mid-day because it was a bit uncomfortable. It wasn't painful, but it was just getting on my nerves a bit! *lol* I've never worn extensions of any kind, so I suppose it just takes some getting used to. I will def be rocking these again though!! A few ladies I work with already want to make a purchase! So if you are on the fence, I totally recommend you these out. I love this wavy one, but the straight hair will most likely need trimming, unless you already have hair that length and just want to add volume. This one gave me length and volume.

HAIRDOS OR HAIR DONT'S?

"This VibraliteTM modacrylic fiber 22" Clip-in Straight Extension from HairUWear adds volume to shorter hair and short hair transforms to luxurious below-the-shoulder length hair in MINUTES. Now any woman can easily and affordably change her length and/or add volume to her own hair with HairDoTM Synthetic Clip-in Hair from Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves."

I really wanted to try these for a while now. I log on to Folica ever day and lust after these! I've seen these recommended by a few youtubers I trust so I thought they would be worth checking out. Now, I am not complaining about my hair what so ever! I've got thick, fairly long dark brown hair---which I like very much. =D I just thought it would be fun to have a little more length instantly!

Here's how it comes:

It comes gentley tied down so the hair doesn't get matted. It is hard to tell from online what the colors are going to look like, so I picked Dark Chocolate. I've heard that the brown ones look more realistic than the blondes. I thought this one looked pretty natural, as my hair is quite shiney.

And here's some shots with the hairpiece on! It was really easy to put in. I read a million reviews on this and a lot of people thought the piece/cap is a little big for their head. I'm going to have to agree with that. It's not so big on me though that it looks odd, in my opinion. In other words, I think it's one of those things you notice but no one else would.

So as you can clearly see..this is not my color!! I really need to Midnight Brown. Other than that...as I mentioned earlier, my hair is quite thick, so this piece looks rather thin mixed in with my hair. For someone who has normal to thin hair, I think this would be perfect. I think if I took this to a hair dresser, they could cut layers in it and make it blend much better. I do with they had a "thick hair" option though. *Sigh*

It seems depending on how the hair is laying, it can look great or a hot mess. Again, I think if I had it cut it would blend better. It was also hard for me to take pictures myself because the hair is so long! (Which I love!) The length is wonderful and I wish my hair was this long already! But it was really fun to try this anyway, even if it wasn't perfect. I do want to try the 23" Wavy hair piece in Midnight Brown. When I do, I'll be sure you let you know how it goes. Does anyone out there have this? What did you think? What do you think of hair extensions in general?

You can buy these from Folica for $79.00. It comes in 16 shades!
