♥Cover Girl Colorlicious Lipsticks!♥

Hi dolls! I'm excited to bring you another swatch & review post on my blog today! I received this cute lippies a bit ago and have been playing with them! Cover Girl has come out with these Colorlicious Lipstsicks!

Claims this lipstick makes:
1. Rich moisturizing formula
2. Full coverage color; high shine intensity
3. Natural butters help keep lips soft
4. In Four delectable shade families-plums, reds, nudes, and pinks

I certainly agree that they are a moisturizing formula. You can see from the pictures that they are quite pigmented--though some I had to swipe several times to get full color. That's actually something that I like in a lipstick though. I find it makes it more versatile in that I can apply it lightly for a bit of color or layer it on for a more intense look. As far as the natural butters  (shea butter) helping keep lips soft, I think the first claim really encompasses that--so I think they should have been combined. And lastly, the shade families---there are SO many colors in each family everyone is sure to find a shade they like!

This is color 265 Romantic Mauve from the Plum family. While I think in the picture this comes off really nice, in person it's got such a frosty finish. I'm not a huge fan of frost finish lipsticks, but if you are, you will love this color!

This is color 265 Champaigne from the Nude family. This is a wonderful creamy lipstick! No shimmer, no frost--just smooth color! xxoo

This is color 390 Sweetheart Blush from the Pink family. And holy cow! This is a SUPER frosty finish!! So frosty, you can use it in the center of your lips over another lipstick for a highlight. I don't think this is a wearable color on it's own--but perhaps there is a super frosty finish lover that will find this to be their HG lipstick! (It takes all kinds, my mama said!)

This is color 405 Temptress Rose from the Pink family. This is such a beautiful bright pink! This one is also so creamy and full color. (Pardon my messy swatch. I'm too lazy to re-take the picture. My bad,)

This is color 330 Ravish Raspberry from the Plum family. This one is BY FAR my favorite of the bunch!! It is also a creamy lipstick.

And lastly, this is color 280 Decadent Peach from the Reds family. Is it strange to anyone else this is in the Red family and not Nudes or Pinks? This one needed a few swipes to get full opacity.

So overall, I love the packaging of these lipsticks. From the 6 I have, I see myself really wearing only 2 consistently; 330 Ravishing Raspberry and 280 Decadent Peach. I think if Cover Girl had labled each color with the type of finish it would be much easier to select lipsticks you will love. Or even if drugstores would have samples that could be swatched--that would be a huge help! *sigh* I hope that this blog post was helpful to you and you are able to find one that you love! You can find these pretty much everywhere and they will retail for about $6.99.

Which one is your favorite? Please comment below and let me know! Until next time...

Stay NVious!

10 MUST HAVES FOR SUMMER 2010

Hello lovelies! These are my 10 "Must haves" for Summer 2010!

Urban Decay Summer of Love Palette: The colors in this are so pigmented and smooth! I love them! You can create a really smokey look with these hot summer shades! This comes with the eye priming potion in Sin and also a 24/7 liner in Bourbon.

Benefit Highbeam- The perfect highlight in my opinion! I really have to get to Sephora to get the full size!

Hana Shine Shield- This makes my hair so smooth and shiny! I love it. Use to make your hair shine when you wear your natural texture, curl, or flat iron!

AVON Smooth Minerals Blush in Radiance- I have really been loving this lately. There is no shimmer to this, just gorgeous color! It doesn't make my dry skin look dryer and it lasts all day with primer.

AVON Smooth Minerals Lipstick in Apricot Glow- I know coral is the big color for this summer, but if you are a fair skinned gal like myself that finds it hard to tan, this is a great option for you! I especially love this color on blue eyed babes! This is super smooth and you can wear lightly or build to make a bolder lip.

Sedona Lace 12 piece brush set in baby pink- I adore these brushes! If you want to read a full review (and how they compare to the Internet sensation Sigma), click here! These will not break your summer budget and apply makeup flawlessly!

MAC Fix +- Just a spritz of fix plus and your face will feel so refreshed! I don't know that it really does anything to make my makeup last any long, but it feels so good and also takes away any powder look I may get. It feels very moisturizing on my dry skin.

AVON Reversalist Day Cream with SPF 25- I love this moisturizer! Not only does it have SPF 25, it helps repair fine lines and helps prevent new ones! Yeah! Though I prefer products to be in a bottle with pump for hygiene, this is still my favorite!

Corioliss 1" Classic Pro styling iron- This is a new toy of mine and I know I will be getting so much use out of this this summer! My hair tends to get big & frizzy during hot, humid months and this will keep my looking smooth & shiny! I'm most impressed that my hair will stay straight until I wash it!! Even after I put my hair in a ponytail for hours, when I take it down, it's still pin straight! Though I've yet to master it, you can also do curls and flips with this as well!

Cover Girl Waterproof  Last Blast Mascaras in black- I've got to go with my two favorites! Last Blast Length and Last Blast Volume. I use these two every day and get incredible lashes! They are so long and thick, people ofen ask me if I am wear false eyelashes! They don't smudge, so it's perfect for a hot summer!

Please visit my blog to enter my "Sedona Lace your Face" makeup contest! It is open internationally and the winner will recieve their very own Sedona Lace 12 pc baby pink brushes!

COVER GIRL EYE ENHANCERS

I have been loving these Cover Girl eye shadows for a while now. The colors are nicely pigmented, they go on smooth and blend really well. I always use Urban Decay's eye priming potion before applying these so they really do last until you take them off. Pictured above are the 7 shades that I own, but there are 25 colors in this collection. All the shades are divided into two catagories: Enhance and Blast. The enhance shades are the more subtle colors (but still pigmented mind you) and the blast colors are to use when you really want to stand out! These range in matte to shimmer to sparkle finishes.

Here's are swatches of the colors that I have:
From left to right:
Shimmering Onyx, Indigo Impact, Brown Smolder, Forver Fig, Mink, Turquoise Tempest, and Sapphire Sparkle

An upclose look at the colors in the pan:

Shimmering Onyx-Blast shade

Indigo Impact-Blast shade

Brown Smolder-Blast shade

Forver Fig-Enhance shade

Mink-Enhance shade (My favorite!)

Turquoise Tempest-Blast shade

Sapphire Sparkle-Blast shade

The colors shown on the Cover Girl website are terrible if you ask me, so that's why I wanted to post my own pictures here. =) Hope this is helpful to anyone who was thinking about purchasing these. I've blended these with some of my MAC shadows and my BH Cosmetic's 28 Neutral palette and they worked wonderfully!

COVER GIRL WETSLICKS AND AMAZEMINT LIP GLOSS

CoverGirl WetSlicks and WetSlicks Amazemint
Top to bottom: Honey Talks, Freedom of Peach, and Very Berry.

"Regular Wetslicks and Wetslicks Crystals have combined shade palettes to give you supreme shade selection - yet the formula still has Wetslicks' signature hi-beam shine and the sleek feel of a balm."

There are 11 colors in this product line. I have one:

Honey Talks is a super creamy and very frosted beige color with golden undertones. It smells like warm honey! It's a lot more frosted looking on your lips than it looks here on my hand. I think this would be better worn over a very matte lipstick and spread thin--unless you like super frosted lips. This one feels a bit sticky and thick, so I'm not loving that.

"CoverGirl Wetslicks Amazemint isn't just a lipgloss, it's a smile treatment! Crest Peppermint Oil provides a minty breath sensation while the gloss itself gives a dazzling high-shine without all that "sticky"."

There are 13 shades in this product line. Two I have are:

Freedom of Peach is my hands down favorite!! It has the perfect amount of mint in it to make your lips slightly tingle! Think a more subtle carmax feeling. This almost perfectly matches my natural lip color and I love wearing this every day! You can make it pretty sheer or build up more color. This one is not sticky at all and just feels amazing!!

Very Berry is a pretty color as well. I haven't worn it as much but I do like it. This one is much more pigmented, as you can see from the swatches above. But you can use just a tad if you just want a wash of color. This one also is not sticky, so I also love how it feels on my lips. Just a nice minty tingle!!

You can find these at most drug stores or places like Target for about $6.00.

COVERGIRL TRUE SHINE LIPCOLOR

From left to right are BlushBerry Shine 415 and Nude Shine 470.

CoverGirl describes these as "Sheer, shiny shades complement 97% of skin tones, guaranteed! "

There are 24 colors in this line and you can find them at your local drug store or Target/Walmart type store.  I have been using these two a lot over the past several weeks and I love them! They are perfect when you don't want too much color on your lip. They are really moisturizing and feel great on. They are light and non stick and non greasy! They don't have a lot of staying power, so be ready to reapply often throughout the day. They are sheer but still gives you a nice wash of color.

If you go to the CoverGirl webpage at http://www.covergirl.com/, you can even get matched to several colors based on hair/eye/skin color if you need help. I thought that was pretty fun! They only thing I didn't like was they ask for your phone number. I don't know about you, but I have enough telemarketers calling me as it is, so I gave my old phone number!  ***Sorry to whoever has that number now!***

There was a notice on this product though that I was very unhappy to see:
"Last chance! Stock up before this product is discontinued."
This made my heart sink! How could they discontinue such a great lip color line? I will be going out soon to stock up and my favorite colors and pick up a few others. I think these are around $6. I'm actually really surprised they are going to discontinue this, there are so many positive comments on their webpage from customers. Makes me wonder if they are really going to discontinue it or are they trying to boost sales? What do you think?
