VAPOUR ORGANIC BEAUTY, PART 3

The good folks at Vapour Organic Beauty sent me some goodies quite a while ago. I've been enjoying many things. Here's the next items in my Vapour Organic Beauty series! These are cream eyeshadow sticks!

Two are from the Mesmerize Shimmer Eye Treatment line, Cinder & Ember. The other one is from the Mesmerize Line (which is supposed to be matte--but I can't agree with that--check out the swatches). Here's a bit from the company about these products that I found to be most interesting:

"Mesmerize Shimmer Eye Treatment is a seductive, sparkling eye color that defines and enhances the eyes while delivery hydrating antioxidants to the skin. Like Vapour’s original matte Mesmerize Eye Color Treatment, Mesmerize Shimmer is infused with Vapour’s nourishing, eye-specific botanical blend, including anti-inflammatory Chrysanthemum and circulation-enhancing Horsetail, to brighten and define the lids without the use of harsh chemical adhesives."

Sorry this pic is a bit on the blurry side--like how my camera picked up the background better than the foreground? Yeah... me neither! Check out the swatches

These are so cute to start! I just love the Vapour packaging! Not only can you recycle it, it's awesome to throw in your bag/purse and not worry about it getting all over your stuff or breaking! It's very nice and creamy is and easy to use. I just swipe my fingertips in a small circle to warm up the product and use my ring finger to apply some to my eyelids. They say you can wear this on your own, so I tried that out one day.

Well...that ended up a mess. It slip-slided all over my eyes and down under my eyes. Not good. So I tried with mineral eye shadow, as suggested. I used some of my lovely Smooth Minerals from AVON that I love. This worked out much better. It kept my shadow on all day and kept it looking nice. I didn't have any creasing either, so whoray!

Here's a some picture of my makeup complete wearing Cinder on my eyelids as a base. The shadow in this one is actually from my 88 Metal Palette from Sedona Lace--probably one of my all time favorite palettes!

At $16 a pop, they are a bit pricey. But the benefits of using organic products outweighs it in my book! These sticks are small (.17 ounces), but a little seriously goes a long way! I think if they made them bigger, they'd probably go bad before you'd have a chance to use it all. I've had these for several months and have hardly made a dent in them.

Overall, I really enjoy these sticks! They are beautiful colors, which I think would flatter most skin tones and they not harsh to your skin/eyes. I know a lot of people are looking for more natural and earth friendly makeup and I think this fits the bill!

Have you tried Vapour Organic Beauty products? What are your favorites?

The Halo Body Spotlight in Moonlight is the perfect way to add a sophositicated way to add subtle shimmer (and moisture) to your  shoulders, arms, décolletage and back!

I really haven't used this on my body, but I've used it as a cheek highlighter---just a tad! It's a really nice color and adds the perfect highlight to the skin while still adding good stuff!!  All of these sticks here are chalked full of anti-oxidants.

The Solar Translucent Bronzer in Simmer is a great way to, again, add color to your body/face while adding moisture as well! This also has sun-specific super anti-oxidants: pomegranate, green tea, and açia berry!

The swatch here looks pretty dark, but you can really sheer this out if you are fair like me! I haven't used this too much, but I do enjoy the color. It doesn't feel heavy on my skin at all. There are two other colors available.

The Stratus Instant Skin Perfector  helps diminish the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and pores. It gives you a smooth canvas to apply foundation. It's also supposed to immediately brighten your complexion.

Out of these three, I've used the stratus most. To warm the product up, I rub it on the back of my hand. Then I swipe the stick over my face and smooth it out with my fingertips. It doesn't feel heavy on my skin, not does it really have a scent. It's not sticky or oily. My skin looks dewy, but not oily--which is fab! I've got dry skin, so my skin loves this, though people with oily skin can use this too!

As far as it diminishing my pores, fine lines, and uneven skin tone....I can't really say that I've seen any change at all. This really provides me with nicely moisturized skin (you skip traditional moisturizers before applying this!) and it creates a nice smooth palette. I was hoping this would also help extend the life of my makeup, but no such luck. I found by the end of the day, most of my foundation had faded away.

Overall I really like these products and will continue to play with them and pass on any tips and tricks to you. If you've tried these, please let me know how you like them and any tips you've got for me!

URBAN DECAY SUMMER OF LOVE PALETTE

Ok, so I know I just gave away an incredible Urban Decay palette because I said I had too much already--and I do--and I love to spoil my followers! But I really do love these colors and had to grab this palette up! I am not a fan of Flash, but only because it's just too bold for me. I also think it would look crazy with my blue eyes--but perhaps I will play with it anyway. I adore Maui Wowie, Chopper, and Smog! They are gorgeous! Be ready for some shimmer with this palette! It also comes with a small 24/7 liner (which are so creamy and smooth!) in Bourbon and also a small Primer Potion in Sin--which I love!

How cute is this packaging?
This picture doesn't even do this palette justice! The colors are so pretty and vibrant! They blend so well and really stay on ALL DAY when you use the primer. I have received so many compliments when wearing this palette. If you don't have any Urban Decay shadows, this is a great one to get!!

AVON MAGIX FACE PRIMER

I have been using AVON's Magix face primer for about six months now and I am pleased to say that I really like it. It goes on super smooth and makes my pores less noticeable. It is a white gel-like product that comes in a one ounce tube. It blends right into your face, no matter what your skin tone is. Magix really makes my skin feel like velvet! The really helps my liquid foundation goes on very smoothly and holds in on much longer than when I do not use it. It has built in SPF 20, which I love! And I only need about a nickel size to cover my whole face really well.

It also comes in a tinted compact:

I have tried this one as well. I can't say that I am as pleased with this one. This is only .3 ounces, has only SPF 15 and it's the same price, $10.00. I don't remember off hand what color I bought--I already gave it away! But this one is just a whole different animal. It just didn't give me good enough coverage to use on its own and my skin didn't feel like it does when I use the tube. I don't get that velvety feeling or pore minimizing look at all. I would not buy this again, unless they were to reformulate it to make it better.

The only other primer I've used before is Urban Decay's Complexion Primer Potion-Pore Perfecting, which was only a sample. So I don't feel like I can really compare them properly. While I love Urban Decay's Eye Priming Potion, I just can't justify spending $30 for one ounce of their primer when I love my AVON $10 primer. If Urban Decay were to have a sale, I would purchase it and do a real comparison.

Pro: Creates a smooth canvas for foundation, feels great, no scent, minimizes pore and excellent price point.
Cons: Only comes in one ounce tubes, dries quickly-so spread fast!

URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION

I think this is probably the most popular eye primer on the market today. So of course I wanted to try it to see what the fuss was all about. I have to say, I was completely impressed with the results that I got. This has made every single kind of eye shadow I have applied, cheap to high end, stay put ALL day long! Your eye makeup will not budge until you decide. Is this worth the $22? I say "Yes!!"

The texture is really smooth and for me at least, the color is really close to my skin tone. I am not sure what it does for people with lighter/darker skin tones, though my guess is it just melts into their skin undectable. This really evened out my darkened eye lids. I think the packaging is reallly cute though I would prefer a sqeezable tube, like Two Faced Eye shadow insurance, so I know I am getting all the product out. I did see another guru who suggested cutting it open when you think you are almost out and scooping out what's left into pots! What a great idea! When I am at that point, I will try that!
